Outside Coursework from other Educational Institutions:

 

Desert Sands Unified School District has established specific criteria for accepting or denying coursework from outside educational institutions, including, but not limited to, community colleges or universities, for inclusion on official high school transcripts. IHS students must demonstrate the ability to comprehend course content with minimal support and exhibit sufficient prior knowledge in the subject area. 

College credit courses will only be added to official high school transcripts if they are approved on the Outside Coursework Application before the student enrolls and meets the following requirements:

  • Approved by UC/CSU and/or NCAA clearinghouse

  • Listed as an IGETC/CALGETC course

Listed as a transferable course on ASSIST.org

High School credit courses will only be added to official high school transcripts if they are approved on the Outside Coursework Application before the student enrolls and meets the following requirements:

  • Completed at an accredited institution

  • Meet A-G requirements


*Students should see their IHS counselor for more information prior to enrolling in any outside coursework.
