PRINCIPAL: MONICA RODRIGUEZ
Mrs. Monica Rodriguez is the proud principal of Indio High School, where she leads with heart, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to educational equity and student success. A lifelong Rajah and graduate of Indio High School, Mrs. Rodriguez has dedicated her career to serving the very community that shaped her.
She began her teaching journey in the Coachella Valley Unified School District as a Language Arts teacher before returning home to Indio High School in 2006 to teach English. Over the years, she has served in a variety of leadership roles, including English Department Chair, WASC Coordinator, and Project Facilitator. In 2013, she became an Assistant Principal, overseeing areas such as State and Federal Programs, English Learners, and Assessment & Accountability. In 2025, she stepped into the role of principal, continuing her mission to foster a school culture where every student feels a strong sense of belonging and is empowered to thrive.
Outside of school, Mrs. Rodriguez is a proud wife and mother of three. Her oldest is an Indio High graduate, her middle child is currently a student, and her youngest is a future Rajah—all student-athletes. Her leadership is deeply rooted in her love for her family, her community, and her belief in the transformative power of education.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL: AIMEE DRUYON
Aimee Druyon was born and raised in Indio and is a proud graduate of the Indio High School Class of 1995. After high school she attended College of the Desert and California State University, Fullerton where she earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology. She then went on to earn two master's degrees in Curriculum and Instruction as well as Educational Administration. Once she graduated from college in 1999, she eagerly returned to the desert to begin teaching at Indio High. Since beginning her career in education 26 years ago, she has taught in both the Physical Education and Social Studies departments at Indio as well as been the Activities Director and an Instructional Coach. As an Assistant Principal she now oversees Curriculum, Instruction, and Students Services. Additionally, she oversees the Counseling Department, Special Education Department, and the Visual and Performing Arts Department.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL: JESSIE RUIZ
Jessie Ruiz is a proud IHS graduate, class of 1989. She earned her BA degree in English from the University of California, Davis and her MA from Cal State, San Bernardino. Her educational career began as a teacher at Cesar Chavez Elementary, then she came to Desert Sands in 2001 as a Bilingual Teacher at Eisenhower Elementary. From there she continued her career as a Project Facilitator in State and Federal Programs working with English Learner Programs. In 2012, Ms. Ruiz came to IHS as the Instructional Coach where she trained teachers on best instructional practices and served in that position for ten years. In her current role as an Assistant Principal, she oversees CTE programs, Attendance, English Learners, and AVID. She is very excited to serve in that role.
